Continuity first
Same GP wherever the timing allows, because knowing your history changes the answer.
About the practice
Harbourview Family Practice is a general practice on Lyons Road in Drummoyne. We look after families, older patients and everyone in between — and we try hard to make sure you see the same GP each visit.
General practice runs on trust and on memory. A doctor who already knows that you've had this before, that a medication didn't suit you, that your father had the same thing at the same age — that doctor can do more in fifteen minutes than a stranger can do in an hour.
So the practice is built around keeping that thread intact. Reception will always try to put you back with your usual GP. If you have a list of things to raise, we would rather you booked a longer appointment than tried to squeeze six items into a standard one and left with four of them unaddressed. That is exactly what the appointment helper on our home page is for.
We also brought allied health into the same building. When your GP suggests physiotherapy, psychology or a dietitian, you can usually book it downstairs rather than starting again somewhere else.
What we hold to
Same GP wherever the timing allows, because knowing your history changes the answer.
If your visit needs thirty minutes, we'd rather book thirty than rush you through fifteen.
You should leave able to explain to someone else what was decided and why.
Ground floor, step-free entry, parking behind the building and a bus stop at the door.
Who you'll meet
Fully qualified GPs and practice nurses, supported by a reception team who know most patients by voice. Our visiting allied health practitioners use the same rooms, so your care stays joined up.
Family medicine across all ages, with special interests in children's health, chronic conditions and women's health.
Immunisations, dressings, health assessments and the nurse clinic appointments that keep things moving.
The people who find you a slot, chase your results and explain the fees before you arrive.
