About the practice

Twenty years on the same corner of Rosebery.

Rosebank Dental Studio opened above the old bank building on Rothschild Avenue with two chairs and a fairly simple idea: slow down, explain everything, and never let anyone find out the price on the way out the door.

Why we work this way

Most dental fear is really a fear of not knowing.

Not knowing what's about to happen. Not knowing how long it will take, whether it will hurt, or what it will cost. Not knowing whether the person holding the drill is going to stop if you need them to.

So we've built the practice around removing the unknowns rather than talking people out of the feeling. You sit up and talk before anything goes near your mouth. Images go on the screen where you can see them. Every plan comes with an itemised estimate you can take away and think about.

The result is a practice full of people who describe themselves as bad dental patients and then keep every six-month appointment for a decade.

What we hold ourselves to

Four things we don't compromise on.

Consent that means something

You hear the options, the risks and the costs before you agree, not after. Saying "not today" is always available.

Time, properly allowed

Our columns are built with breathing room. Running late is the exception here, and rushing you is not the fix for it.

Prices in writing

Itemised, with item numbers, so you can check it against your fund before you commit to anything.

Only what's needed

If watching and waiting is the right call, that's what we'll recommend. Nobody here has a treatment target.

The team

Small, stable, and fully registered.

Six of us, most here for years. That matters more than it sounds: you see the same dentist each visit, the same person greets you at reception, and nobody has to re-read your history from scratch.

Dr Nadia Ashworth

Principal Dentist

Opened the practice and still takes the longest appointments in the book. Special interest in restorative work and anxious patients.

Dr Elias Marchetti

Dentist

Handles most of our implant and crown work. Known for narrating exactly what he's doing, step by step, whether you asked or not.

Joanne Pryor

Oral Health Therapist

Sees most of our children and does the majority of our cleans. Has never once told anyone off about flossing.

Rosa Villanueva

Practice Manager

The person who sorts your estimate, your fund claim and your payment plan, usually before you've thought to ask.

The practice itself

Quiet rooms, current equipment, no waiting-room television.

Four surgeries, all with windows. Digital scanning and low-dose imaging, so there's less guesswork and fewer repeat visits. Noise-cancelling headphones and blankets on request, and a waiting room deliberately kept calm rather than clinical.

  • Ground-floor entry and step-free access from Rothschild Avenue
  • Two-hour street parking directly out front, plus rear lane spaces
  • A short walk from the bus stops on Gardeners Road
  • Saturday mornings for anyone who can't get away midweek

Come and have a look.

Book a check-up, or ask for a no-treatment first visit if you'd rather just meet us and talk it through.
