Halcombe Building Talk to us

How we quote, and what happens when it changes.

Halcombe has built in Bendigo since 2008. Two crews, about a dozen jobs a year, and a deliberate decision not to grow past what the two of us can walk daily.

Renovation work on old housing stock always turns up something. The question is not whether that happens but how quickly you hear about it and whether the cost was explained before the work went ahead.

A quote with the unknowns named
Where we cannot see behind something, the quote says so and carries a range. A single number for a job nobody has opened up yet is a guess dressed as a price.
Variations in writing, same week
If something changes the cost, you get it in writing before we proceed, not on the final invoice.
One schedule, kept updated
A dated schedule at the start, revised whenever it moves. Most builders have one; fewer share it.
